The Federal Government has endorsed advice to introduce further social distancing measures. This includes the requirement that non-essential organised outdoor public gatherings of more than 500 people, and non-essential indoor gatherings of more than 100 people, should not occur.  For indoor events with under 100 people, there must be a density of no more than one person per four square metres of floor space, and venues should continue to apply social distancing and hygiene practices. This includes being able to maintain a distance of 1.5 metres between patrons.

We want to reassure Canberrans that we are very well placed to manage the outbreak of COVID-19 here in the ACT, and we will continue to assess the implementation of public health measures in a proportionate manner. For the latest updates on COVID-19 in the ACT, visit https://health.act.gov.au

Until further notice, all sport and entertainment events at GIO Stadium, Manuka Oval, Stromlo Forest Park and Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) are now subject to conditions introduced by sporting codes and clubs in response to advice from the Federal and ACT Governments and ACT Health.
